Volunteering, a new path for contribution in community

I am Chanelle Corcia from France  volunteer at Udruga Impress,  recently graduated on a bachelor’s degree in psychology, gaining an in-depth understanding of human behavior, cognitive processes, and social dynamics.

This knowledge is essential for working effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

Alongside my studies, I earned my BAFA (Brevet d’Aptitude aux Fonctions d’Animateur), which allowed me to develop practical skills in animation and group management for children.

My professional experience as an educational assistant in a middle school for two years helped me enhance my communication skills and my ability to handle complex situations. I learned to meet the individual needs of students, ensure a positive learning environment, and closely collaborate with the teaching staff to support students’ academic success.

Additionally, I worked at a leisure center one summer, where I had the opportunity to plan and lead activities for groups of children. This experience not only allowed me to apply my animation skills but also to develop great adaptability and the ability to meet the varied needs of children in a recreational setting.

My desire to engage in volunteering stems from several deep and personal motivations. Firstly, I firmly believe in the importance of giving back to the community and contributing to the well-being of others. Volunteering would allow me to use my skills and knowledge to provide tangible support to those in need, while continuing to learn and grow personally. Secondly, I see volunteering as a valuable opportunity to discover new cultures, meet people from diverse backgrounds, and experience enriching human interactions. These multicultural interactions are opportunities to broaden my perspectives and deepen my understanding of the world.

Finally, volunteering represents a way for me to apply my psychology and animation skills in various contexts while developing new abilities. This experience would be beneficial for my future career, enhancing my adaptability, teamwork skills, and resilience in the face of challenges.

With a solid background in psychology, practical experience in animation and educational support, and a strong motivation to contribute positively to society, I am convinced that volunteering is the ideal next step in my journey. This experience would not only be personally enriching but also allow me to continue developing essential skills for my future career while making a significant contribution to the community.
